NASS (a service of USDA) works cooperatively with the California Department of Food and Agriculture, County Agricultural Commissioners' Offices, and Ag-Industry representatives to provide the best possible statistical data for California agriculture. This cooperation permits the preparation and publication of county level estimates of crops, livestock, fruits, nuts, and many others commodities unique to California. In addition, NASS conducts surveys for other government agencies and private organizations.
